ADHD is a ‘neurodevelopmental’ disorder which can affect a number of areas of brain function. With understanding, care and holistic treatment, people with ADHD can be successfully supported to improve their quality of life. Children and Adults with ADHD may experience difficulties with:

For you to have ADHD, the symptoms have to be severe enough to cause ongoing problems in more than one area of your life. As you grow older, diagnosing ADHD becomes more difficult because some of the symptoms are similar to those caused by other conditions, such as anxiety or depression. This makes getting an ADHD assessment as soon as possible vital for an accurate diagnosis.
We gather family, medical and neurodevelopmental history through our standardised questionnaires during the screening process.
Then we meet you for a feedback session for around 60 mins (face to face or online) where we gather additional information and go through the findings of the questionnaires and decide next steps.
If the decision is to continue with the ADHD pathway, we continue with the next phase in the pathway…
You will meet a Consultant for the Diva Assessment which lasts around 90 -120 mins. This focuses on the type of ADHD existent and behaviour now in relation to childhood. The details are passed onto the specialist for your diagnosis appointment. This appointment is face to face or online.
You will meet the Psychiatrist or a Consultant Clinical Psychologist for a 60 minute appointment who will assess whether you meet the criteria for an ADHD diagnosis, and may ask you further questions. Treatment plans can then be discussed at an additional cost. A comprehensive report will follow with next steps and recommendations.
Costings are in two parts.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADHD, is a condition that affects a person’s ability to concentrate, regulate impulses, and maintain consistent attention. While it often presents in childhood, ADHD can continue into adulthood or remain undiagnosed until later in life.
ADHD presents differently from one person to another. Some people may struggle with organisation and forgetfulness, while others may experience restlessness, difficulty completing tasks, or impulsive decision-making. Regardless of the presentation, a proper assessment is essential for understanding what is happening and how best to support long-term wellbeing.
There are three recognised types of ADHD, each with distinct behavioural patterns. Understanding the type you may have is a key part of the assessment and helps tailor any treatment or support plan.
Identifying this type of ADHD is crucial for personalised care, and a thorough assessment ensures no important details are missed.
It can be challenging to know when to seek an assessment, especially if symptoms seem manageable or have been present for many years. However, it is advisable to seek an assessment if you have symptoms that impact your quality of life, productivity, emotional wellbeing, or personal relationships.
For children, early assessment can prevent academic challenges, social difficulties, and frustration caused by misunderstood behaviour. If you have signs such as difficulty following instructions, disruptive behaviour, forgetfulness, or struggles with schoolwork.
Adults mainly seek assessment after noticing patterns such as chronic disorganisation, restlessness, procrastination, difficulty maintaining focus, or emotional overwhelm. Some schedule assessments after realising that longstanding challenges align with ADHD characteristics.
Whether you are experiencing workplace difficulties, academic barriers, or simply want clarity for your own peace of mind, a professional evaluation offers the insight needed to move forward confidently.
Choosing a private ADHD assessment with Neuro Medical Group in Bristol offers several significant advantages.
When you book your private ADHD assessment with Neuro Medical Group in Bristol, you can expect a structured yet supportive process that provides clarity and confidence.
The assessment begins with an initial consultation, during which you will discuss your symptoms, concerns, and personal history with a specialist clinician. This conversation helps us understand how ADHD-related symptoms may be affecting your everyday life.
You may be asked to complete questionnaires or screening tools to provide additional insight into your behaviour patterns. For children, information from parents, carers, or teachers may also be helpful. Adults may reflect on childhood experiences, as ADHD typically begins in early development.
The clinical interview is followed by a detailed evaluation of your cognitive, emotional, and behavioural profile. Your clinician will review all gathered information, ensuring that the assessment is thorough and considers any alternative explanations for your symptoms.
Once the assessment is complete, you will receive a clear diagnosis, where applicable, along with a full written report. This includes recommendations for treatment, workplace or academic adjustments, behavioural strategies, and next steps tailored to your needs. You are encouraged to ask questions and discuss any concerns to ensure you feel supported and informed throughout the entire process.
