ADHD can present in different ways, each with slightly different symptoms:
This type is marked by challenges with focus and organisation. Common signs include:
This type involves high levels of activity or impulsive behaviour, including:
This is the most common form, combining symptoms of both inattentive and hyperactive-impulsive types.
In children, ADHD often shows up as fidgeting, difficulty listening, or disruptive behaviour in class.
In adults, it might look more like poor time management, difficulty concentrating, emotional regulation problems, or ongoing struggles with motivation and productivity.
Recognising these patterns is the first step toward seeking an assessment and getting tailored support.
Common reasons people in Glasgow seek ADHD testing include:
An assessment helps to confirm whether ADHD is the underlying cause of these struggles or whether it’s something else, such as anxiety or depression, might be contributing.
Getting a diagnosis brings understanding and relief. It allows access to effective treatments such as medication, therapy, and lifestyle strategies that can significantly improve quality of life.
Many people in Glasgow are now choosing a Private ADHD Assessment due to long waiting times and limited access to NHS diagnostic services.
Here’s why going private can be beneficial:
NHS waiting lists can stretch for months or even years. With Neuro Medical Group, you can book an appointment within weeks, not months.
Private assessments are more comprehensive, exploring your full medical, psychological, and developmental background to ensure an accurate diagnosis.
We offer in-person and online assessments to fit your schedule, providing convenience and privacy.
You’ll receive a full written diagnostic report, along with treatment recommendations and support options tailored to your needs.
Private assessments give you more choice in your treatment options and the freedom to start managing your ADHD immediately.
At Neuro Medical Group, our Private ADHD Assessment in Glasgow follows clinically recognised procedures based on NICE guidelines, ensuring reliability and care throughout the process.
Here’s what to expect:
Before your appointment, you’ll complete a detailed questionnaire about your history, symptoms, and daily challenges. This helps our clinicians prepare for a focused assessment.
You’ll meet with one of our specialist psychiatrists or psychologists to discuss your experiences, behaviour patterns, and medical history. We may also gather information from parents, teachers, or partners if relevant.
We use structured tools such as the DIVA-5 or Conners Scales to evaluate ADHD symptoms across various settings.
After the assessment, you’ll receive a detailed report outlining the diagnosis (if confirmed) and personalised treatment recommendations.

ADHD is a ‘neurodevelopmental’ disorder which can affect a number of areas of brain function. With understanding, care and holistic treatment, people with ADHD can be successfully supported to improve their quality of life. Children and Adults with ADHD may experience difficulties with:

For you to have ADHD, the symptoms have to be severe enough to cause ongoing problems in more than one area of your life. As you grow older, diagnosing ADHD becomes more difficult because some of the symptoms are similar to those caused by other conditions, such as anxiety or depression. This makes getting an ADHD assessment as soon as possible vital for an accurate diagnosis.
We gather family, medical and neurodevelopmental history through our standardised questionnaires during the screening process.
Then we meet you for a feedback session for around 60 mins (face to face or online) where we gather additional information and go through the findings of the questionnaires and decide next steps.
If the decision is to continue with the ADHD pathway, we continue with the next phase in the pathway…
You will meet a Consultant for the Diva Assessment which lasts around 90 -120 mins. This focuses on the type of ADHD existent and behaviour now in relation to childhood. The details are passed onto the specialist for your diagnosis appointment. This appointment is face to face or online.
You will meet the Psychiatrist or a Consultant Clinical Psychologist for a 60 minute appointment who will assess whether you meet the criteria for an ADHD diagnosis, and may ask you further questions. Treatment plans can then be discussed at an additional cost. A comprehensive report will follow with next steps and recommendations.
Costings are in two parts.
Total cost for package £1500
Single Assessment Pathway – Assessment & Diagnosis for ADHD and Autism £300 (Screening) £2450 (Full Diagnosis and report)
