ADHD is a ‘neurodevelopmental’ disorder which can affect a number of areas of brain function. With understanding, care and holistic treatment, people with ADHD can be successfully supported to improve their quality of life. Children and Adults with ADHD may experience difficulties with:

For you to have ADHD, the symptoms have to be severe enough to cause ongoing problems in more than one area of your life. As you grow older, diagnosing ADHD becomes more difficult because some of the symptoms are similar to those caused by other conditions, such as anxiety or depression. This makes getting an ADHD assessment as soon as possible vital for an accurate diagnosis.
We gather family, medical and neurodevelopmental history through our standardised questionnaires during the screening process.
Then we meet you for a feedback session for around 60 mins (face to face or online) where we gather additional information and go through the findings of the questionnaires and decide next steps.
If the decision is to continue with the ADHD pathway, we continue with the next phase in the pathway…
You will meet a Consultant for the Diva Assessment which lasts around 90 -120 mins. This focuses on the type of ADHD existent and behaviour now in relation to childhood. The details are passed onto the specialist for your diagnosis appointment. This appointment is face to face or online.
You will meet the Psychiatrist or a Consultant Clinical Psychologist for a 60 minute appointment who will assess whether you meet the criteria for an ADHD diagnosis, and may ask you further questions. Treatment plans can then be discussed at an additional cost. A comprehensive report will follow with next steps and recommendations.
Costings are in two parts.

If you struggle with focus, impulsivity, emotional control, or mental organisation but can’t seem to find what the underlying cause might be, the answer could be ADHD. Although awareness of the condition has dramatically improved, many people in Kent and other areas still live with the condition without knowing.
The situation is further complicated by the lack of a single test to diagnose the condition. Instead, you have to rely on a private ADHD assessment, which offers a clinically robust way to determine whether Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) may be contributing to these experiences.
You can get your private ADHD assessment in Kent from The Neuro Medical Group. We provide thorough, clinician-led ADHD assessments designed to deliver insight, understanding, and practical next steps. Our focus is on clarity and accuracy, ensuring each individual receives an assessment that genuinely reflects their lived experience.

ADHD is a lifelong condition that affects how the brain regulates various functions such as attention, impulse control, and activity levels. It is not caused by poor parenting, lack of discipline, or low intelligence. Instead, ADHD is associated with differences in brain structure, chemistry, and information processing.
ADHD is a neurological condition that influences how the brain regulates attention, motivation, emotional responses, and impulse control. It is not a behavioural choice or a reflection of ability or effort. Instead, ADHD is linked to differences in brain development that affect executive functioning and the skills required for planning, organisation, self-regulation, and sustained attention.
ADHD does not present in a single, uniform way. Some individuals primarily struggle with inattention, experiencing mental fatigue, distractibility, and difficulty completing tasks. Others are more affected by impulsivity and restlessness, finding it challenging to pause, reflect, or regulate behaviour. Many people experience features of both, which can shift over time and across different environments.
A professional assessment is essential to recognise these variations accurately and avoid oversimplification.
The signs of ADHD extend beyond difficulty concentrating. Individuals may find it hard to organise daily responsibilities, manage time effectively, or maintain consistency despite strong intentions. Tasks that require sustained mental effort can feel overwhelming, leading to avoidance or burnout.
Emotional regulation difficulties are also common. Some people experience intense emotional reactions, frustration, or sensitivity to stress, while others struggle with chronic self-doubt due to repeated challenges in academic, professional, or personal settings.
In adults, ADHD symptoms are often internal rather than outwardly disruptive. Racing thoughts, mental overload, and difficulty switching off are frequently reported. Because these experiences can resemble anxiety or stress-related conditions, ADHD is often overlooked without specialist evaluation.
You may consider a private ADHD assessment in Kent if ongoing cognitive or emotional challenges are interfering with daily life, relationships, education, or work performance. People also seek assessment during periods of increased demand, such as career changes, higher education, or parenting, when long-standing coping strategies stop working.
An assessment may also be helpful if you have always felt that tasks require significantly more effort than they seem to for others, or if previous explanations have not fully accounted for your experiences.
Seeking an assessment is not about finding fault, but about gaining understanding and direction into your condition.
An ADHD assessment provides a structured, evidence-based understanding of how your brain processes information and regulates behaviour. Without proper evaluation, individuals may internalise blame for difficulties that have a neurological basis.
Accurate assessment helps differentiate ADHD from other conditions that can present with similar features, ensuring that support and treatment are appropriate rather than misdirected. It also opens the door to informed decision-making around therapy, lifestyle strategies, workplace adjustments, or medical treatment where appropriate.
For many individuals, assessment brings a sense of relief and validation, offering an explanation that aligns with years of experience.
