ADHD is a ‘neurodevelopmental’ disorder which can affect a number of areas of brain function. With understanding, care and holistic treatment, people with ADHD can be successfully supported to improve their quality of life. Children and Adults with ADHD may experience difficulties with:

For you to have ADHD, the symptoms have to be severe enough to cause ongoing problems in more than one area of your life. As you grow older, diagnosing ADHD becomes more difficult because some of the symptoms are similar to those caused by other conditions, such as anxiety or depression. This makes getting an ADHD assessment as soon as possible vital for an accurate diagnosis.
We gather family, medical and neurodevelopmental history through our standardised questionnaires during the screening process.
Then we meet you for a feedback session for around 60 mins (face to face or online) where we gather additional information and go through the findings of the questionnaires and decide next steps.
If the decision is to continue with the ADHD pathway, we continue with the next phase in the pathway…
You will meet a Consultant for the Diva Assessment which lasts around 90 -120 mins. This focuses on the type of ADHD existent and behaviour now in relation to childhood. The details are passed onto the specialist for your diagnosis appointment. This appointment is face to face or online.
You will meet the Psychiatrist or a Consultant Clinical Psychologist for a 60 minute appointment who will assess whether you meet the criteria for an ADHD diagnosis, and may ask you further questions. Treatment plans can then be discussed at an additional cost. A comprehensive report will follow with next steps and recommendations.
Costings are in two parts.

Ongoing difficulties with attention, organisation, or impulse control are not to be taken lightly. These challenges can affect academic performance, professional responsibilities, and personal relationships and could very well be symptoms of ADHD.
However, there are other conditions, such as anxiety and depression, that may present the same symptoms. The only way to be certain or rule out ADHD is through an assessment that can be conducted in a private clinic or at the NHS.
At The Neuro Medical Group, we offer comprehensive assessments led by experienced clinicians. Our approach is thorough, patient-centred, and tailored to each individual’s unique experiences. Through careful evaluation, we not only provide a diagnosis but also practical strategies to help improve daily functioning and overall well-being.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that influences how the brain regulates attention, impulsivity, and executive functioning. This includes skills such as planning, organising, time management, and managing emotional responses.
ADHD is not a reflection of intelligence, motivation, or character. People with ADHD often have unique strengths but may face persistent challenges in maintaining focus, following through on tasks, or controlling impulses. Recognising ADHD as a neurological condition is the first step toward understanding and managing its impact on daily life.
ADHD can manifest in different ways, and recognising the specific type can help advise on the best type of support you need:
Inattentive ADHD is marked by difficulties sustaining attention, forgetfulness, and disorganisation. You may struggle to complete tasks, follow instructions, or stay focused at work and in social settings.
Symptoms of hyperactive impulsive ADHD include high energy and impulsive behaviour. You may act before thinking, interrupt conversations, or struggle to remain seated or calm in structured situations.
If you have combined type ADHD, you have symptoms of both inattentive and hyperactive-impulsive symptoms. The degree of each symptom can vary depending on the environment, age, or life circumstances.
Unfortunately, there’s no single test that can confirm or rule out ADHD. Instead, diagnosis involves a detailed process that evaluates behaviour, cognitive functioning, and personal history. Clinicians look for patterns of symptoms that are consistent, persistent, and disruptive to daily life.
During an assessment, clinicians typically:
A private ADHD assessment is a thorough evaluation conducted by a specialist clinician experienced in diagnosing neurodevelopmental disorders. Unlike online questionnaires or brief screenings, private assessments provide a complete picture of behaviour, attention, and cognitive function.
Private assessments typically include:
The final outcome is a detailed report with personalised recommendations to help you understand your symptoms and plan for effective management.
You might consider a private ADHD assessment in Wirral if you notice persistent difficulties with focus, organisation, or self-control that impact daily life. Common indicators include:
Assessments are beneficial for all age groups. Children may need early evaluation to support learning and social development, while adults often seek a diagnosis after recognising long-term patterns affecting work or personal life.
Both NHS and private ADHD assessments are clinically valid, but private assessments often offer added benefits:
Private appointments are usually available sooner than NHS assessments, which often have long waiting times.
More time is provided to explore personal history, symptoms, and functional challenges, which is crucial in providing an accurate diagnosis.
Private assessments include comprehensive reports with practical guidance for managing ADHD in daily life.
Appointments can be arranged to suit work, school, or family commitments.
A private assessment combines the same professional standards as NHS evaluations with a more personalised, convenient experience.
At The Neuro Medical Group, our private ADHD assessments follow a structured, supportive process:
Clinicians discuss current symptoms, challenges, and personal history to understand the individual’s context.
Childhood behaviour, schooling, and social development are explored to identify patterns.
Standardised assessments evaluate attention, executive function, and impulse control.
Behaviour across home, school, and work environments is considered to ensure consistency of symptoms.
A detailed report summarises findings, diagnosis, and practical strategies for managing ADHD.
Clinicians provide advice on coping strategies, lifestyle adjustments, and potential therapeutic or medical interventions.
Undertaking a private ADHD assessment provides numerous advantages:
Helps understand persistent challenges with focus, organisation, or impulse control.
Enables children to access support and strategies that enhance learning and social development.
Offers practical recommendations that fit individual lifestyles and needs.
Assessments are conducted by experienced clinicians in a confidential, supportive environment.
Provides a structured plan for managing ADHD in daily life, work, or education.
