ADHD is a ‘neurodevelopmental’ disorder which can affect a number of areas of brain function. With understanding, care and holistic treatment, people with ADHD can be successfully supported to improve their quality of life. Children and Adults with ADHD may experience difficulties with:

For you to have ADHD, the symptoms have to be severe enough to cause ongoing problems in more than one area of your life. As you grow older, diagnosing ADHD becomes more difficult because some of the symptoms are similar to those caused by other conditions, such as anxiety or depression. This makes getting an ADHD assessment as soon as possible vital for an accurate diagnosis.
We gather family, medical and neurodevelopmental history through our standardised questionnaires during the screening process.
Then we meet you for a feedback session for around 60 mins (face to face or online) where we gather additional information and go through the findings of the questionnaires and decide next steps.
If the decision is to continue with the ADHD pathway, we continue with the next phase in the pathway…
You will meet a Consultant for the Diva Assessment which lasts around 90 -120 mins. This focuses on the type of ADHD existent and behaviour now in relation to childhood. The details are passed onto the specialist for your diagnosis appointment. This appointment is face to face or online.
You will meet the Psychiatrist or a Consultant Clinical Psychologist for a 60 minute appointment who will assess whether you meet the criteria for an ADHD diagnosis, and may ask you further questions. Treatment plans can then be discussed at an additional cost. A comprehensive report will follow with next steps and recommendations.
Costings are in two parts.

Ongoing difficulties with attention, organisation, or impulse control are not to be taken lightly. These challenges can affect academic performance, professional responsibilities, and personal relationships and could very well be symptoms of ADHD.
However, there are other conditions, such as anxiety and depression, that may present the same symptoms. The only way to be certain or rule out ADHD is through an assessment that can be conducted in a private clinic or at the NHS.
At The Neuro Medical Group, we offer comprehensive assessments led by experienced clinicians. Our approach is thorough, patient-centred, and tailored to each individual’s unique experiences. Through careful evaluation, we not only provide a diagnosis but also practical strategies to help improve daily functioning and overall well-being.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that influences how the brain regulates attention, impulsivity, and executive functioning. This includes skills such as planning, organising, time management, and managing emotional responses.
ADHD is not a reflection of intelligence, motivation, or character. People with ADHD often have unique strengths but may face persistent challenges in maintaining focus, following through on tasks, or controlling impulses. Recognising ADHD as a neurological condition is the first step toward understanding and managing its impact on daily life.
A private ADHD assessment is more than just a diagnosis; it’s a crucial step towards understanding your mental health and improving your quality of life. ADHD, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, can affect focus, organisation, emotional regulation, and everyday functioning. Without a proper assessment, these challenges can often be misattributed to other conditions, leaving underlying issues untreated.
Some key benefits of a private ADHD assessment include:
ADHD can present differently in each individual. A private assessment provides a structured evaluation to understand the specific ways ADHD may be affecting your life, helping you distinguish it from stress, anxiety, or other neurodevelopmental conditions.
Once your ADHD profile is established, support and strategies can be personalised. This might include lifestyle adjustments, coping techniques, or professional interventions that directly address your unique challenges.
For children, early assessment can significantly improve academic performance, social interactions, and emotional development. Identifying ADHD early allows parents and schools to put supportive measures in place.
ADHD shares symptoms with other conditions such as anxiety, depression, and learning difficulties. A thorough private assessment reduces the risk of misdiagnosis, ensuring the right treatment and support are provided.
ADHD is not limited to any specific age group or background. Many people remain undiagnosed until adulthood, while others seek clarification for their children’s behavioural or learning challenges.
Adults who experience persistent difficulties with attention, planning, or completing tasks may benefit from a private assessment. Understanding ADHD in adulthood can lead to strategies that enhance productivity, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being.
Children who exhibit hyperactivity, impulsivity, or inattention may require support at home and in school. An assessment helps parents understand their child’s needs and secure tailored educational and behavioural strategies.
ADHD can affect social relationships and emotional regulation. People struggling with impulsive behaviour, frustration, or low self-esteem may find that understanding the underlying cause through an assessment is life-changing.
Those in demanding work environments may notice patterns of distraction or forgetfulness impacting career progression. A private ADHD assessment can offer strategies to manage symptoms while maintaining professional efficiency.
At Neuro Medical Group, our private ADHD assessments in Wolverhampton are comprehensive and evidence-based. We take a multi-step approach to ensure accuracy and provide meaningful insights.
This initial stage involves a detailed discussion about your personal and family medical history, lifestyle, work or school performance, and behavioural patterns. It allows the clinician to gather a full picture of symptoms and their impact.
Both adults and children complete validated ADHD rating scales to assess attention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Children, parents, and teachers may also complete these questionnaires to provide a broader perspective.
Our assessments often include tests of attention, memory, and executive functioning. These tests help identify the ways ADHD affects thinking and day-to-day functioning.
Clinicians observe behaviour during assessments to spot patterns that may not be captured in questionnaires. This is particularly helpful for children or individuals with complex presentations.
After gathering all information, a detailed report is prepared. This outlines the diagnosis, symptom profile, and personalised recommendations for support, strategies, and treatment if required.
Choosing the right clinic for a private ADHD assessment is critical. Neuro Medical Group combines expertise, accessibility, and personalised care to ensure every patient receives a high-quality experience.
Our team consists of trained clinicians with extensive experience in diagnosing ADHD in both adults and children. They understand the nuances of ADHD and apply evidence-based methods for accurate assessments.
We prioritise your comfort and understanding throughout the process. Assessments are conducted in a supportive environment where questions and concerns are addressed.
Conveniently located in Wolverhampton, we provide easy access for families and adults seeking timely appointments without long waiting lists.
All assessments are conducted with strict confidentiality and professionalism, ensuring sensitive information is handled securely.
A private ADHD assessment does not just identify whether you have ADHD; it equips you with actionable insights and support options.
You receive a comprehensive report detailing assessment findings, ADHD symptom profile, and recommendations for treatment or interventions. This can be shared with healthcare providers, schools, or workplaces if needed.
Based on your assessment, clinicians provide strategies tailored to your lifestyle or your child’s needs. This could include organisational techniques, behavioural strategies, or cognitive exercises.
If additional support is needed, we can guide you to relevant specialists such as therapists, ADHD coaches, or educational psychologists.
We ensure that you know the next steps after your assessment, helping you make informed decisions about treatment, support, and personal management.
Completing an ADHD assessment is the first step in a proactive journey toward better understanding and managing symptoms.
Take time to go through the detailed report provided by our clinicians. Understanding the diagnosis and recommendations is crucial to implementing effective strategies.
Whether it’s behavioural adjustments, study techniques, or time management strategies, following the guidance given can make a noticeable difference in daily life.
Many individuals benefit from additional support through therapy, ADHD coaching, or support groups. Professional guidance can help reinforce coping mechanisms and personal growth.
Track changes in behaviour, focus, and emotional regulation. This helps identify which strategies work best and allows for adjustments as needed.
For children, sharing assessment results with schools helps secure accommodations. Adults may also find it beneficial to discuss strategies with employers to create supportive work environments.
