Dr Chinedu Umeh is a psychiatrist with broad experience across adult mental health services, including community psychiatry, early intervention in psychosis, perinatal services, and neurodevelopmental assessment. He is currently a Specialty Psychiatry Registrar with Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and also works as an Associate Specialist Psychiatrist carrying out specialist ADHD assessments.

He graduated in Medicine from the University of Bristol, where he also obtained a BSc in Medical Ethics and Law. He is a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and holds Section 12 (Mental Health Act) approval.

Dr Umeh has worked across a wide range of NHS settings, including adult community mental health teams, early intervention services, perinatal psychiatry, inpatient psychiatry, CAMHS, older adult services, and medical psychotherapy. He has also held consultant-level clinical responsibility within an Early Intervention in Psychosis service, providing assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, risk management, and psychopharmacology input for adults with complex mental health presentations. His broad clinical background has given him particular skill in identifying how ADHD and other neurodevelopmental conditions can present alongside or be obscured by co-existing difficulties such as anxiety, depression, and trauma.

Alongside his NHS work, Dr Umeh has extensive experience in ADHD assessment, post-diagnostic reviews, and medication titration and monitoring. His approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and person-centred, with a strong emphasis on careful assessment, clear communication, and tailored treatment planning. He is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care that helps patients better understand their difficulties and move forward with confidence.
