ADHD is a ‘neurodevelopmental’ disorder which can affect a number of areas of brain function. With understanding, care and holistic treatment, people with ADHD can be successfully supported to improve their quality of life. Children and Adults with ADHD may experience difficulties with:

For you to have ADHD, the symptoms have to be severe enough to cause ongoing problems in more than one area of your life. As you grow older, diagnosing ADHD becomes more difficult because some of the symptoms are similar to those caused by other conditions, such as anxiety or depression. This makes getting an ADHD assessment as soon as possible vital for an accurate diagnosis.
We gather family, medical and neurodevelopmental history through our standardised questionnaires during the screening process.
Then we meet you for a feedback session for around 60 mins (face to face or online) where we gather additional information and go through the findings of the questionnaires and decide next steps.
If the decision is to continue with the ADHD pathway, we continue with the next phase in the pathway…
You will meet a Consultant for the Diva Assessment which lasts around 90 -120 mins. This focuses on the type of ADHD existent and behaviour now in relation to childhood. The details are passed onto the specialist for your diagnosis appointment. This appointment is face to face or online.
You will meet the Psychiatrist or a Consultant Clinical Psychologist for a 60 minute appointment who will assess whether you meet the criteria for an ADHD diagnosis, and may ask you further questions. Treatment plans can then be discussed at an additional cost. A comprehensive report will follow with next steps and recommendations.
Costings are in two parts.

ADHD is quite common, and many people living with it are not aware of it. Most people believe the condition is behavioural or a lack of management. However, the condition affects how the brain manages focus, impulse control, organisation, and emotional regulation.
ADHD can quietly impact education, career progression, relationships, and mental well-being long before it is formally recognised. A private ADHD assessment offers a timely and thorough way to understand these challenges and gain clarity about the most appropriate next steps.

ADHD presents differently in each person, and the condition is typically divided into three main types. Understanding the symptoms and how they appear can be an important step in recognising whether an assessment may be needed.
This type is often characterised by difficulties with focus, organisation, and follow-through. Common symptoms include:
Individuals with inattentive ADHD may appear quiet or withdrawn, which can result in symptoms being overlooked, especially in girls and adults.
This type includes behaviours related to restlessness and impulsivity. Symptoms may include:
This type is more noticeable in childhood, often prompting earlier assessment.
This presentation includes symptoms from both inattentive and hyperactive-impulsive categories. It is the most common form and can have a significant impact across learning, work, behaviour, and relationships.
Symptoms of ADHD may vary by age. Children tend to display more obvious behavioural signs, while adults often experience internal restlessness, time-management difficulties, emotional overwhelm, or challenges with organisation and decision-making.
Both NHS and private assessments follow structured diagnostic frameworks, but the experience can differ significantly.
NHS ADHD assessments have long waiting lines that can extend up to a year, delaying assessment, diagnosis and support. A private assessment offers a faster route, allowing you to receive clarity and support without delay.
Private assessments offer greater scheduling flexibility, including in-person or online appointments. This makes it easier for individuals with work, school, or caregiving commitments.
Private assessments often allow more time for detailed discussions about symptoms, personal history, and daily challenges. This can help clinicians develop a deeper understanding of your situation and provide more personalised recommendations.
At Neuro Medical Group, every client receives a detailed diagnostic report, tailored recommendations, and guidance about next steps. This includes workplace or school adjustments, therapy options, and potential treatment pathways.
Private services offer faster follow-up support, referrals, and recommendations to help you manage symptoms effectively.
Private ADHD assessments are a preferred choice for those who want timely answers and a personalised, specialist-led experience.
Booking a private ADHD assessment with Neuro Medical Group is designed to be simple, supportive, and stress-free. Here is how the process works:
Contact our team via phone or through our website to discuss your needs or your child’s needs. Our team will guide you through available appointment times and answer any initial questions about the assessment process.
Once you book, you will receive questionnaires to help us gather essential background information, including developmental history, symptoms, and daily experiences. Children, parents, and teachers may also be asked to contribute. This helps our clinicians prepare and tailor the assessment to your circumstances.
Your assessment will involve a structured clinical interview conducted by a specialist in neurodevelopmental conditions. The clinician will explore your symptoms, emotional responses, behavioural patterns, and how ADHD may be affecting different areas of life. This may be completed in person or online, whichever you prefer.
Standardised diagnostic tools are used alongside the clinical interview to ensure accuracy and reliability. These tools help identify whether the full diagnostic criteria for ADHD are met.
You will receive clear feedback about the outcome of your assessment. If ADHD is diagnosed, your clinician will discuss what that means, what support is recommended, and how to move forward confidently.
You will receive a comprehensive diagnostic report that includes assessment findings, clinical conclusions, and tailored recommendations. This report can be used for workplace or school support, referrals, or treatment planning.
We take pride in the trust our clients place in us. Here’s what they have to say about their experience and our commitment to quality.
