ADHD is a ‘neurodevelopmental’ disorder which can affect a number of areas of brain function. With understanding, care and holistic treatment, people with ADHD can be successfully supported to improve their quality of life. Children and Adults with ADHD may experience difficulties with:

For you to have ADHD, the symptoms have to be severe enough to cause ongoing problems in more than one area of your life. As you grow older, diagnosing ADHD becomes more difficult because some of the symptoms are similar to those caused by other conditions, such as anxiety or depression. This makes getting an ADHD assessment as soon as possible vital for an accurate diagnosis.
We gather family, medical and neurodevelopmental history through our standardised questionnaires during the screening process.
Then we meet you for a feedback session for around 60 mins (face to face or online) where we gather additional information and go through the findings of the questionnaires and decide next steps.
If the decision is to continue with the ADHD pathway, we continue with the next phase in the pathway…
You will meet a Consultant for the Diva Assessment which lasts around 90 -120 mins. This focuses on the type of ADHD existent and behaviour now in relation to childhood. The details are passed onto the specialist for your diagnosis appointment. This appointment is face to face or online.
You will meet the Psychiatrist or a Consultant Clinical Psychologist for a 60 minute appointment who will assess whether you meet the criteria for an ADHD diagnosis, and may ask you further questions. Treatment plans can then be discussed at an additional cost. A comprehensive report will follow with next steps and recommendations.
Costings are in two parts.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects how the brain processes attention, motivation, and self-regulation. It is not a behavioural choice or a lack of discipline. But it is linked to differences in brain chemistry and neural pathways responsible for executive functioning.
People with ADHD often experience difficulty sustaining attention, managing time, controlling impulses, or regulating emotions. These challenges can present differently from one person to another, which is why ADHD is often misunderstood or overlooked, particularly in adults.
Although ADHD is a lifelong condition, individuals can develop effective strategies to manage symptoms and thrive in daily life with an accurate diagnosis and appropriate support.
ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects attention, impulse control, and activity levels. It affects how the brain processes information and regulates behaviour. Symptoms often begin in childhood but can persist into adulthood, sometimes becoming more noticeable as responsibilities increase.
ADHD symptoms vary widely and can look different from one person to another.
Individuals may find it difficult to concentrate, follow instructions, or complete tasks, particularly those requiring sustained mental effort. This can impact work performance, academic achievement, and everyday responsibilities.
Some people experience constant mental or physical restlessness, making it hard to relax or remain seated for long periods. This may appear as fidgeting, pacing, or feeling on edge.
Acting without thinking, interrupting conversations, or struggling with emotional outbursts are common. These challenges can affect relationships and decision-making.
ADHD is classified into three main presentations based on symptom patterns.
This type is characterised by poor focus, forgetfulness, and disorganisation, often without obvious hyperactivity. It is frequently overlooked, particularly in adults.
This presentation involves impulsive actions and high activity levels, which are often noticeable in social or educational settings.
The most common type is combining both inattentive and hyperactive-impulsive symptoms that affect multiple areas of life.
One of the reasons why ADHD can go for years without being diagnosed is that there’s no single test for ADHD. An assessment that involves several processes and a skilled clinician is needed to provide an accurate diagnosis.
An ADHD assessment is a structured clinical evaluation designed to determine whether an individual meets recognised diagnostic criteria. It is not based on a single test but involves gathering detailed information about symptoms and life experiences.
The assessment process is designed to build a complete picture of how symptoms have developed and how they currently impact daily functioning.
Clinicians explore early childhood behaviour, education, work life, and personal relationships to identify consistent patterns of ADHD-related challenges.
This stage focuses on present-day difficulties at home, work, or school, ensuring symptoms are persistent and not situational.
Evidence-based questionnaires and assessment frameworks are used to support accurate and reliable diagnosis.
Children who struggle with concentration, behaviour, or emotional regulation may benefit significantly from an assessment. Early diagnosis can lead to tailored educational support and improved long-term outcomes.
Many adults in Coventry seek ADHD assessments after years of unexplained difficulties.
Adults with undiagnosed ADHD often find it challenging to manage deadlines, multitask, or maintain focus in demanding environments.
ADHD can affect emotional regulation, communication, and organisation, placing strain on personal and professional relationships.
An assessment can provide clarity, validation, and direction at any stage of life.
One of the key benefits of a private ADHD assessment is reduced waiting time compared to NHS pathways. This allows individuals to receive answers and begin appropriate support without prolonged delays.
Private assessments typically allow more time for discussion and individualised evaluation.
Clinicians can explore symptoms in detail without feeling rushed, leading to more accurate conclusions.
Patients receive detailed explanations of results, helping them fully understand their diagnosis and next steps.
An accurate diagnosis opens the door to effective management strategies, which can significantly improve daily functioning, mental health, and self-confidence.
